Organic Electronics is part of Siemens Corporate Research and Technology. It focuses on novel lighting technologies such as OLED and OLEEC, organic photodetectors and electrochromic displays. Previous activities on organic transistors and organic photovoltaics resulted in the joint venture called PolyIC, and those on organic photovoltaics were sold to Konarka. Competences range from materials, fabrication processes and devices to prototyping. Lab infrastructure comprises a chemical lab, a clean room with facilities for vacuum and solution processing of organic semiconductors, and a variety of optical and electrical characterization methods.
