ESTABLIS-Saint Cricq, sponsorship of an European Scientific Section

Last Friday, our Project Leader Roger Hiorns with our Project Manager Mélanie Pédeutour and Alberto Gregori, one of our Fellow in Pau, went to Saint Criq High School to promote science, research and the ESTABLIS Project to 2nd year students (14-15 years old) of a new European Section.

Lycée Saint Cricq

The opportunity for this intervention had been the opening of this new European Section at the Lycée Saint Cricq (the students have one extra hour per week of Science, taught in English or German). Roger, Mélanie and Alberto were invited to present their career, their activities and their "Scientific Life Experience". The students, meanwhile, talked about their Educational Project for this year as well as their interest in science and research. For all the participants (ETABLIS Team, Students and Teachers) it had been a great opportunity to share with ease about different themes.Roger Presentation

This collaboration will settle over time. Indeed, Roger Hiorns will be the sponsor for this first edition. As such, he will be the scientific referent for these students throughout the school year. Next appointment has been setted for the 22nd of November, when fifteen among PhD students and postdocs of the ESTABLIS Project, currently scattered throughout Europe, will be in Pau to participate to a seminar organized within the Project. The Students of the European Section will have the opportunity to meet all of them and to talk about the themes of the ESTABLIS research: the development of organic solar cells (OSCs).
